Last week, I heard on the radio that during the opening ceremony of the Cathédrale Notre-Dame, which will take place on the 7th of December, there will be a special choir performance to celebrate the restoration work that lasts over five years. The choir, formed by members of the restoration crew, including sculptors and carpenters, was initiated by archaeologist Dorothée Chaoui-Derieux and engineer Stéphanie Duchêne, who were in charge of the project.
The choir consists of eighty workers and was created a little more than a year ago. They often practice until the end of the day despite their fatigue.
I found this idea exceptionally commendable, as it unites the people working on the project with such diligence and devotion. At the same time, this effort demonstrates that it is not only talent that matters but also serious work done with heart. This will be a performance of passion, not just musical competence. Bravo for such a graceful and authentic gesture!

Un bon geste à Notre-Dame de Paris
La semaine dernière, j’ai entendu à la radio que, pour la cérémonie officielle de la Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris qui aura lieu samedi 7 décembre, un chœur spécial célébrera un travail de restauration qui dure depuis plus de cinq ans. En effet, une chorale réunissant les travailleurs du chantier, du sculpteur au charpentier, a été formée grâce à l’initiative d’une archéologue, Dorothée Chaoui-Derieux, et d’une ingénieure, Stéphanie Duchêne, impliquées dans la reconstruction de la cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris.
Il s’agit d’une tradition qui soude l’équipe de quatre-vingts artisans et qui a été créée il y a plus d’un an. Souvent, ils se retrouvent pour répéter à la fin de la journée, malgré la fatigue.
Je trouve que c’est une idée exceptionnellement formidable pour unir les artisans qui travaillent avec tant de diligence et de dévouement. En même temps, cet effort démontre que ce n’est pas uniquement le talent qui compte, mais aussi le travail sérieux, fait avec le cœur. Ce sera une performance de passion, et non de simples compétences musicales. Bravo pour ce geste gracieux et authentique !
